Hello, my name is Michael Pereira.

Having lived full time off the grid as a young man for over a year I learned a great deal about living off the land, navigation, basic and advanced survival skills, shelter building and many other preparedness related subjects. These skills have served me well my whole life preparing me for leadership roles and providing the self-confidence one needs to be a survival and preparedness expert. One of the most important lessons I learned during my time in the woods was to not procrastinate. Doing the jobs now that can be done frees up valuable time later when there may be more important issues at hand. Preparation was part of my daily routine.

We seemed to have a never-ending list of things that needed to be accomplished. Living off grid leaves little time for relaxation as there was always something that needed to be done. A new outhouse that needed to be built or a new cook tent or bathing area that needed to be constructed and of course lumber to be cut for winter.

My time in the wilderness afforded me the experience of canoing the Suwanee River from its headwaters in Suwanee Georgia to the Gulf of Mexico. That was a one month trip that I will remember the rest of my life. Exploring caves that stretched miles into the mountains of West Virginia and going whitewater rafting in the New River Gorge in West Virginia through class 5 rapids gave me the confidence and skills I needed to become a productive adult. Planning out the meals and logistics of these trips helped me to understand at a young age the planning and preparation it takes in order for something to work the way you intended. Years later as an IT Professional, I read the story of Selco and my journey back into the world of preparedness began.

After the initial stock market crash of 2000 I began to think about where the general direction that the world was heading in. Then, with the events of September 11th, 2001, it became apparent that things were changing globally. I began exploring the online preparedness communities and alternative media as more and more lies came through mainstream media outlets. Then after the stock market crash of 2008 it became clear that financially the world was heading for some hardships and with that comes the need for preparedness. Working in the financial sector for almost twenty years as a technical writer, computer programmer, graphic designer and video producer gave me some unique insights into how the world financial markets work. Now, my passion is to help others become prepared and to live and prosper even in this new world we now live in, because everyone is important and means the world to someone else. If you need quality, passionate service in the survival market please take a look at Omega Protocol.
